Ten weeks of art journaling and ten weeks of different techniques thus far! For this week I’m gonna ask you, are you ready for texture? Let me say this again, are you READY for some Texture! I am so excited to announce this week’s challenge prompt which is brought to you by our featured artist Kirsten van Miltenburg.
When I was deciding on what layout to feature next, I knew I wanted something with texture. I found Kirsten’s channel on Youtube and was immediately drawn to her ‘Don’t dull your sparkle’ journal page. Not only was it ingenious for using leftover die cut bits (if you are a die cutter than you know how these little bits pile up!) but also her use of color. Other than drying times, it also seemed to be a super fast journal page to put together which, for all you busy crafters, was a great idea!
Kirsten’s use of liquid acrylics had me all excited. I’ve had a bit of an infatuation with them lately. If you don’t have any liquid acrylics kicking around, I’m willing to bet that you could use almost any ink sprays this week!
Kirsten has 300+ videos on her channel for you to ogle over! I admit there are quite a few other journal layouts of hers that I would love to use as inspiration in some of my own future journal pages. I’m sure you will find some there that inspire you as well, so be sure to check out her channel and subscribe HERE.
*If you decide to recreate this journal page, please be sure to give Kirsten Credit. While she isn’t on Instagram at this time, a simple ‘Inspired by Kirsten van Miltenburg’ in your description will suffice.
As always with the Inspired By Challenge, you have until Sunday midnight to post your journal layouts pictures to Instagram using the #inspiby tag. Don’t forget to follow and tag both Karen and Me on Instagram so we can see your creations as well!
