Inspired By Week 12 Prompt

Ok, I am just going to sit here a second with my jaw open and stare dumbfoundedly into space.. 12 weeks you guys! I can’t believe that time has flown by that fast! It’s crazy but so good! So as this is week 12, I wanted something that was not only a new technique but maybe something that might be a wee on the easier side, seeing as school is starting soon and all those last minute quick fun trips are planned to finish off the summer right! (Ok, well maybe not everyone has mini trips planned but I know I have a few quick overnighters coming up.) We have had so many amazing artists and layouts in the past couple weeks that it was getting harder and harder for me to choose! Scrolling through YouTube one night, you know me, I stumbled across this video from Chelsey Vorosmarty.  I was instantly drawn to the vibrant colors against the stark black background, then I watched the video and was like, Yessss! This is the one for this week! Check out the video below and tell me you don’t have the same reaction:

Wasn’t that awesome? Chelsey is a mixed media artist and teaches a ton of classes ranging from scrapbooking and art journaling, to how to use watercolors and Copic markers.  Be sure to check her out on all her social media sites:

Now if you don’t have ink sprays in your art stash yet, well, you might want to buy them- haha just kidding. I’m willing to bet that you could attempt this technique with watercolors. Maybe I’ll try it that way?! Who knows what will happen once I get settled into my craft room and start creating!  As always, you can either recreate this layout or just use it as inspiration when creating your own art journal page. **If you do recreate this layout please be sure to give Chelsey credit!

You have until Sunday midnight (whatever your time zone is, I’m not going to get specific. *wink) to post pictures of your art journal layout to Instagram using the #inspiby tag. Remember, this is just for FUN, no stress, no judgments, just a happy challenge to get you out of your usual creating stream and trying new things. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this week! Don’t forget to Tag us in your posts so we can see what you’ve created as well!

Happy Creating!
