Inspired By Week 13 Challenge Prompt

It’s week 13 already! Are you ready? This week was Karen’s pick and here’s what she had to say about her choice:

“For this week’s #inspiby I chose an amazingly fun page by Jenny Potter. She uses so many different mixed media techniques that I just wanted to pull out my products and play the minute I started watching it. She has hundreds of fun videos to watch, using many different mixed media products.

In this video, there’s stamping, stencils, cling wrap with paint, more stencils, shapes, overlays, masking/blocking, doodling, drawing, outlining, detailing, and interesting color combinations. While Jenny commented that she wasn’t excited about her color choices, the effect is fun and the techniques phenomenal. I can’t wait to play this week to see what I come up with, I hope you are inspired and join us, too!”
Thanks Karen! How awesome was that video! That’s one of the great things about when we are creating art, it’s ever-changing and we follow where the layers lead us! As always, you will have until Sunday at midnight (whatever your time zone is, is when your midnight deadline will be! *wink) to post pictures of your journal layout to Instagram using the #inspiby tag.
*If you decide to recreate this layout, please be sure to give Jenny (@ozegran) credit.  Be sure to tag Both Karen and me too! We love seeing your art journaling every week and following along with you on your creative journeys!
Don’t forget to take a peek at all Jenny’s media links and show her some love!
Be safe today and enjoy the Solar Eclipse. It’s amazing to think that we get to see these wonderful events safely, all thanks to technology!
Happy Creating!
XO-Erin and Karen

  1. WOW! I just woke up and sat down with my morning cuppa (first of a few before I get moving) and checked my social media sites to see what happened while I slept, and was literally dumbfounded to find that one of my art journals was featured in Erin’s “Inspired by” feature.
I love to art journal and learn new techniques by being inspired by others, and if I can share what I’ve learned by uploading my art to YouTube for those who are hesitant about giving it a go, to show that we all make mistakes (yes I include all the mistakes I make), to show the pure joy of completing a journal page that I actually like, then I am happy.
When I first found art and craft on YouTube it was like this insatiable thirst, I couldn’t get enough of all the beginner tutorials there were to help me learn. That’s when I realised I wanted to share what I had learned, so you will rarely see me upload any ‘show and tell’ videos, I don’t do art journal tutorials, I just show my process (warts and all) and products used for anyone who might just learn something from my videos.
Thank you so much again for featuring my page. I am going to check out all the others featured in your “inspired by” segment.
    Smiles
    Jen

    1. Well, thank you, Jenny, for continuing to quench your thirst by creating amazing art and inspiring us! We would love to have you onboard the #inspiby challenges!
