‘Small Beginnings’

Hello My Artsy Peeps!

So for the challenge this week I thought I would mix it up a bit! I had wanted to make another little mini book for myself to play with my watercolors, so why not combine the two! I decided to create my cover for the challenge. Check out my process video:

While the cover didn’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped, I still think it’s fun and will work for what I created it for, to play in! Here’s what I used to create the cover:

Chipboard cover

White Gesso

Ink Sprays: Lindy’s Stamp Gang- Titl a wheel Teal, Creme Brulee Creme

Dylusions-White Linen, Tangerine Dream, Funky Fuschia

irRESISTible Neons- Orange, Yello, Green

Sharpie Black Fine Point Pen

Uniball Signo White Gel Pen

Golden Heavy Body Acrylic: Titanium White

Art Alchemy Impasto Paint: Lemon Peel

Stencil: The Crafter’s Workshop TCW 493S

Stamp: Simon Says Stamp- Circle Doodle Background

Scissors

Tim Holtz Sentiment Stickers

Scrap Paper & Paper Doily

Daniel Smith Watercolor- Moonglow

I hope you were inspired to create something fun this week as well!

Hello My Artsy Friends!

When I first chose this week’s featured layout (see the post about that HERE), I was under the assumption that it wouldn’t take too terribly long and it would have a gorgeous color payoff.  Well, I was right on both accounts! Wishes & Fishes

I had fully intended to make this week a picture by picture tutorial. It was a layout that took oodles and oodles of time to dry. (Picture me sitting impatiently sipping coffee literally watching paint dry!) But as this layout progressed and my frustrations grew, yeah, I forgot to snap pictures. What I did do however was learn quite a few lessons. So grab yourself a drink and let’s chat! Continue reading “Wishes & Fishes”

‘Follow Your Dreams’

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for this week’s challenge layout, however, I knew that I wanted to incorporate both bright colors and also a butterfly. I have this fabulous ginormous swallowtail butterfly stamp from Stampin’ Up that I wanted to put onto the layout. With those ideas in mind, I set off into the craft room to create. ‘Blocks’ Inspired by week 3

This week was more difficult than I thought it would be. After being sick and then a water pipe outside our house bursting, needless to say, art took a back seat.  Once I did find myself seated in front of my desk, I knew where I wanted to go with this week’s challenge.
